MESA, Ariz. -- A man and his girlfriend were arrested Sunday morning after running into a house while trying to avoid police.

Authorities responded just after 9 a.m. after receiving a call about two people arguing. The caller claimed that the man in the argument had displayed a handgun.

Officers arrived at Brown and Mesa Drive looking for the individuals, but were unable to locate them.

A short time later an officer found the couple’s vehicle at a nearby Walgreens. The officer approached the vehicle, which is when they reportedly fled.

The couple, who had a third person in the vehicle, eventually drove to the Salt River Indian Community where they were temporarily able to lose police.

The couple reportedly went on to drive through a residential yard and bumped into the house.

The suspects ran into the home, and were eventually found and apprehended in the laundry room.

Police said no significant damage was done to the home. No injuries were reported.

The male suspect had a warrant for his arrest. He's also facing charges of domestic violence and fleeing from police.

There's no word on any charges against the other people in the vehicle.
