GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Criminal charges could be facing both men involved in the Friday night shooting at University of Phoenix Stadium.

Glendale Police said they received a call around 9:30 p.m. from a man claiming that he had accidentally shot another man in a parking lot just north of the stadium.

The caller didn’t flee the area, and remained on scene near the victim.

The suspect was taken into custody, while the victim was rushed to a local hospital. Police said the victim suffered a single gunshot wound, and is in stable condition with injuries that are not life-threatening.

During their investigation, police learned that a verbal altercation between the two men took place about an hour before the end of the Arizona Cardinals game against the Oakland Raiders.

Police said the altercation appears to be fan based.

The man who was taken into custody was eventually released by detectives after being questioned.

There are no other suspects, and no arrests have been made.

Police said both men involved in the incident could potentially face charges.
