Man dies after crashing into limousinePosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- One man lost his life and another suffered minor injuries after an SUV struck a limousine Wednesday morning in Phoenix.
Michael Howington, 21, died after his Chevy Trailblazer crashed into a limousine at the intersection of North 56th Street and East Greenway road.
A witness told police that Howington was driving aggressively and at a high rate of speed while traveling south on North 56th Street.
Howington reportedly failed to stop at a red light, and crashed into the limousine as he reached the intersection at East Greenway road.
According to police, Howington was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from his vehicle as it rolled over.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the limousine was a 63-year-old man. He was wearing a seat belt and didn’t suffer any serious injuries. He was the only person in the vehicle.
Police said they’ve determined that the limousine driver was not impaired at the time of the accident. It is not yet known if Howington was impaired.
