TEMPE, Ariz. -- The ASU Sun Devils are just 17 days away from kicking the season off against Northern Arizona University.

The only question at this point, which Quarterback will be under center for the Sun Devils on Aug. 30?

Monday, head coach Todd Graham gave the first definitive answer of where he is leaning.

“If we played today Taylor [Kelly] would be the guy,” Graham stated. “Right now he is the guy that we have put in there and we will see how the week goes. “

Graham made it exceptionally clear that the battle for the starting job is not over. A sentiment red-shirt sophomore Taylor Kelly took to heart. “I have to improve every day,” Kelly said. “I have to stay even more focused than I have been and come out with a fire in my eye and just compete.”

As for the second Quarterback position, Michael Eubank and Mike Bercovici are splitting reps with the second team. Bercovici knows every rep is precious and plans take full advantage of every opportunity he can.

“Today, I got limited reps.” Bercovici stated passionately. “This offense is based off explosive plays.  Today I had two drives two touchdowns. One of them was a one play drive where I made all my reads correctly and had a touchdown.”

Extra Points:

• Todd Graham thought sophomore defensive end Jordan McDonald stood out in the Saturday’s scrimmage for the defense.

• The team will practice for the last time Tuesday morning before departing for Camp T.
