MESA, Ariz. -- Police have arrested a suspect in the murder of a smoke shop owner in Mesa.

Investigators arrested Kurt Dustin Coleman, 39, Friday night. He was already in custody on a warrant.

Mi-Sum "Mimi" Price, 51, was found dead inside the Cigarettes 4 Less near Greenfield Road and Main Street on June 17.

"One of the patrons went into the store to make a purchase and discovered a female behind the counter," said Mesa police Sgt. Tony Landato.

At the time, detectives believe she was killed in a robbery gone bad. Customers said Price's store had been robbed several times before and she had started requiring people to remove their hats and sunglasses when they walked in so they could be more easily recognized.

"Diligent investigative efforts by our homicide detectives, various testimonies, surveillance video and latent prints from the scene" led investigators to Coleman, according to Landato.

Coleman was charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery and misconduct involving weapons.
