PHOENIX -- A 10-month-old girl is in extremely critical condition at Phoenix Children’s Hospital after almost drowning in a bathtub.

Emergency crews were called to a home near 75th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road on Sunday morning.

A mother had reportedly placed her baby and the baby's 2-year-old sibling in the tub together and started the shower.

Officials said the woman walked away for a moment, and when she returned the 10-month-old was underwater.

It is believed that the 2-year-old may have accidentally pushed down the stopper on the tub, causing it to fill up.

The 10-month-old reportedly didn’t have a pulse for more than half an hour, but was revived at the hospital.
