Windy weather shuts down hot air balloon eventPosted: Updated:
Windy weather early Saturday morning shut down an event that attracts hundreds to the shores of Lake Travis.
The 22nd annual hot air balloon flight was supposed to take off at sunrise. Crews were up before dawn to prepare dozens of colorful balloons.
But the weather was just too windy -- posing a danger to people planning to float high above the earth.
The Central Texas Ballooning Association canceled the event before crews took off -- a sight families look forward to every year.
