Freeway closures and restrictions for weekend constructionPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Before you head out this weekend, make a note of these construction projects from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). Closures and restrictions will be in place for freeways on both the east and west sides of town.
*Loop 303 closed in both directions between Olive and Peoria avenues from 5 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday (Aug. 13) for freeway construction, including irrigation system work. DETOUR: Consider using Sarival Avenue or Cotton Lane.
*Northbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway) on-ramp at Chandler Boulevard closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Aug. 13) for utility work. Northbound frontage road also closed between Chandler Boulevard and Ray Road. DETOUR: Consider using northbound Dobson Road to westbound Ray Road to access Loop 101.
*Westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) narrowed to one lane overnight between Elliot and Power roads from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (Aug. 13) for installation of temporary concrete barrier. DETOUR: Please use caution and be prepared to merge safely in work zone.
*Eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) narrowed to one lane overnight between Power and Elliot roads from 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 14) for installation of temporary barrier wall. DETOUR: Please use caution in work zone. NOTE: Santan Freeway will be narrowed to two lanes in each direction in this area through late summer 2013 for construction of future State Route 24 (Gateway Freeway) interchange.
