There is about a 20 to 30 percent chance of thunderstorms in the high country of northern and eastern Arizona over the next couple of days, but all should stay calm in the Valley.
An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for the Valley and much of the deserts of Arizona through Sunday evening, although it could be extended into early next week.
A High Pollution Advisory is in effect for the Valley again Friday for unhealthy levels of ozone. People with a sensitive respiratory system should limit their time outdoors, and everyone is encouraged to carpool and refuel after dark.
