GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Glendale police detectives arrested a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman last month and they believe he may be responsible for similar crimes in Phoenix.
The victim met David Wright, 49, on a social media website, according to the Glendale Police Department. They had one previous date, during which he took her for a ride on his motorcycle.
When Wright arrived for their second date on July 26, the woman allowed him into her home for a glass of water and he sexually assaulted her, according to Sgt. Brent Coombs.
The victim immediately reported the attack to police and detectives were able to identify that Wright was the suspect.
Investigators found that he was previously convicted of sexual assault involving a serious sexually transmitted disease related to an attack in Florida more than 20 years ago.
Phoenix police detectives are working on other cases that may be related to Wright.
Anyone with information on unreported crimes involving Wright can call the Glendale Police Department at 623-930-3000 or the Phoenix Police Department at 602-262-6141.
