GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Brad Ivanchan lost both legs and suffered other horrific injuries in June while serving in Afghanistan.

The 23-year-old has just returned home to Glendale after spending five long weeks in a military hospital. But despite his struggles, Ivanchan said he has no regrets about his time overseas.

"It made me grow up a lot, and it was definitely an experience that I wouldn't trade for anything," Ivanchan said.

Learning to walk with prosthetics will be a tough process, but his wife Sara says she'll be there during the good and bad times.

Ivanchan's dad, Keith, and mom, Leslie, both say they know their son is tough enough to get through the many challenges that come with recovery, and they're thrilled he's back home in Glendale.

Friends and family are welcoming this brave Marine back to the Valley Thursday night at the Salty Senorita in Peoria, at 8011 W. Paradise Lane.

The night will include live music, drink specials and a lot of celebrating. The party begins at 5:30 pm.

You don't have to know Brad or his family to come by and say "thanks" to this wonderful young man and his family.
