Woman missing after fight with boyfriend found safePosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Police say the woman at the center of the search has been found safe.
Courtney Forrester, 21, vanished after getting into a fight with her boyfriend.
Forrester's boyfriend called her mother after the fight, saying she disappeared. The mother, in turn, drove to her daughter's house and called police.
Officers spent the morning talking to those who were in the home early Monday morning.
Once inside the house, investigators found evidence of an altercation.
"Officers that initially responded here, in looking for her, saw what they believe was blood inside the home," explained Sgt. Trent Crump of the Phoenix Police Department.
Based on that, they believed it was possible that Forrester might have been injured. They had classified the case as "missing person with extenuating circumstances."
While the blood discovered in the home could be "very explainable," investigators simply don't know exactly what happened in the house, nor do they know for sure what might have happened to Forrester.
"At this point, it is one of the elements that has us treating this, right now, as though there could be foul play," Crump said.
In an email sent at 10:15 a.m., Crump informed the media that Forrester "has been found an is fine." She reportedly was at her mother's home in Tempe.
