MESA, Ariz. -- Mesa police are searching for a woman who robbed a credit union on Tuesday.

The suspect entered SunWest Federal Credit Union near Southern Avenue and Gilbert Road around noon.

Police said the suspect presented a note to a teller and received an undisclosed amount of money. She left the bank on foot and was last seen heading eastbound.

The suspect was described as a white female in her late 20s to early 30s, with long dark hair, large lips, about 5 feet 4 inches tall, and between 120 and 135 pounds.

She was wearing a large brimmed beach-style purple hat, sunglasses, a black shirt with multicolored stripes, gray pants, flip-flop style shoes and was carrying a tan-colored tote bag.

Police believe this suspect is responsible for two other bank robberies in Mesa.

The investigation is ongoing.
