PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns will have a new television play-by-play announcer when they tip-off the 2012-13 season.

On Friday, the team announced that long-time sports broadcaster Steve Albert will call all the Suns games on Fox Sports Arizona.

Albert previously spent 13 years as the voice of the New Jersey Nets. He’s also worked as the television play-by-play announcer for the Golden State Warriors and New Orleans Hornets.

Albert has also called contests for the NFL, NHL, MLB, and professional boxing.

“Steve’s dynamic personality will be a great addition to our broadcast team. His arrival comes at an ideal time, as our team on the court also transitions into a new and exciting era of Suns basketball,” said Suns President Jason Rowley.

Steve Albert isn’t the only sportscaster in his family. His brother is famed broadcaster Marv Albert, who currently calls games for Turner Sports.
