PHOENIX -- After an active weekend of thunderstorms and rain in Arizona, there is a chance for more stormy weather in the new week ahead.
Temperatures Monday morning started off in the 80s with fairly high humidity -- near 50 percent. Later today, the mercury will rise to about 101 degrees under partly sunny skies.
Abundant moisture is present in Arizona's atmosphere right now, and a weather disturbance moving through will only add to the instability that could fuel thunderstorms later this afternoon and evening.
Thunderstorm chances continue Tuesday for the Valley, but from Wednesday through the weekend storm chances decrease and temperatures rebound a bit to near 105 degrees.
