GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- A Tempe man was sentenced Friday for abducting and molesting a 14-year-old girl in Goodyear last year.
Under the terms of a plea agreement, Christopher Shahin, 25, was given three years supervised probation and six months deferred jail time for a charge of unlawful imprisonment. He was also sentenced to three years supervised probation for a charge of endangerment. Both counts will run concurrent.
Shahin was arrested in May 2011 after he grabbed a girl at a Goodyear gas station as she walked home from school.
Witnesses saw Shahin grab the girl, and were able to write down his license plate. He would eventually let the teen out of his car after driving down the road for a little while.
Police went to Shahin’s Tempe home, and were able to place him under arrest after a chase that led them to a Mesa apartment complex.
The victim would eventually pick Shahin as the attacker from a police lineup.
