TEMPE, Ariz. --  As details continue to emerge about the gunman who opened fire at an early morning showing of "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, Colo., moviegoers in Phoenix are still reacting to the massacre.

Tess Rafols talked to several people as they left early showings of the new Batman movie at Tempe Marketplace.

Many in the midnight showings hadn't yet heard about the mass shooting. Like most other people throughout the country, they were stunned and dismayed by the news.

"I think I'm safe in a movie theater," one man said. "I don't expect somebody to come in with a gun and start going all crazy on people."
