Phoenix weather: Changes comingPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Mostly cloudy skies greeted Valley residents Thursday morning. It was a beautiful sunrise, and although we're not expecting any rain today, some of those clouds will stick around for the afternoon.
Look for partly sunny skies and an afternoon high of 106, which is exactly average for today's date. Overnight lows should dip to the upper 70s and low 80s in the Valley tonight under partly cloudy skies.
As a ridge of high pressure sitting over the central U.S. shifts west, more monsoon moisture is expected to begin moving into Arizona Friday.
By Friday night, the Valley has a slight chance of thunderstorms and showers, with a better chance expected over the weekend.
Temperatures should top out near 108 Saturday and 105 Sunday with about a 30-percent chance of showers and storms both days. Storm chances continue into Monday and Tuesday with even cooler temperatures expected.
