FBI seeks "Baseball Babe" bandit in bank robberies

PHOENIX -- The FBI is asking for the public's help in identifying and finding a bank robber. They are calling this robber the "Baseball Babe" Bandit.

The suspect is believed to have robbed three banks in Mesa. They are the Compass Bank on Southern Ave., at Fiesta Mall, the Compass Bank at Apache Trail and Greenfield and the Bank of America near Dobson and 8th St. The robberies occurred during the months of March through June of this year.

The female suspect usually wears a baseball-style hat and is said to have a "youthful" appearance. She is white, about 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. She usually wears latex gloves during the robbery.

When robbing the banks, the suspect shows a demand note and threatens the bank's employees. When finished, she is seen leaving the banks on a bike.
