PHOENIX -- After a hot start to the week, temperatures are starting to moderate while humidity -- and storm chances -- are on the rise.
Look for an afternoon high of 109 degrees today under partly sunny skies. The Excessive Heat Warning has been canceled for the Valley today, but is still in effect for Western Arizona.
There's a 30-percent chance of storms today, especially during the late afternoon and evening hours. Blowing dust and strong winds are a threat, but we could get some rain, too, as storms are more likely to come off of the Rim and into the Valley.
There is about a 30-percent chance of storms from this evening all the way through the weekend. Temperatures should start to come down, too, both in the afternoon and overnight.
By the weekend, look for highs close to 105 degrees and overnight lows in the mid 80s.
