PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. -- A Chino Valley man was arrested for allegedly assaulting a group of girls at the Prescott Valley Library.

Police say Bryce Beck, 19, admitted to touching girls, ages 10, 12 and 15, on their legs while at the library on June 29. He also allegedly admitted to opening and closing a knife in front of the girls to show off.

Police say it all started when Beck followed the girls up to the second floor of the library and asked them why they were staring at him.  They told him they were not and that he was staring at them.  They say he also acted in a way that made them uncomfortable, including making comments the girls thought were threatening.

They told their parents about what happened when they got home.

Beck originally faced felony charges, but then Yavapai County Attorney's Office decided not to pursue those charges. So now the Prescott Valley Magistrate plans to charge him with misdemeanors.

Police advise anyone who feels they are in danger or believe someone is doing something that makes them fear for their safety to immediately seek assistance from a responsible adult nearby.
