PAGE, Ariz. -- A woman and two 3-year-olds were treated for head injuries after they were ejected from a boat on Lake Powell Wednesday night.

The accident occurred at about 9:45 p.m. immediately following the fireworks display on the lake.

The three victims were seated on the bow of a 23-foot deck boat when it struck a rock outcropping island, according to the Coconino County Sheriff's Office. They were ejected onto the shore.

Seven other people on the boat were not injured.

National Park Service and Game and Fish officers rendered first aid to the 3-year-old boy, 3-year-old girl and 25-year-old woman, all of Cedar City, Utah.

The boy was flown to the Flagstaff Medical Center where he was treated for non life-threatening head injuries. The woman and girl were taken by ambulance to Page Hospital where they were treated for non life-threatening head injuries and soft tissue damage consistent with blunt force trauma.

Investigators do not believe the watercraft operator was impaired and they do not anticipate any enforcement action at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
