PHOENIX -- After a few days of relief from our typical July heat, above-average temperatures are forecast for the weekend.

Friday started out in the upper 70s and low 80s across the Valley, but temperatures are expected to warm to about 105 degrees this afternoon under mostly sunny skies.  Storm chances are slim for the Valley today, but increase slightly over the weekend.

Skies should be partly sunny over the weekend with high temperatures around 108 degrees both Saturday and Sunday.

Storm chances are around 10 to 20 percent over the weekend, but are a bit higher by Tuesday and Wednesday of next week thanks to increasing monsoon moisture.  Overnight lows stay fairly warm in the mid 80s over the next couple of nights.

Thursday's Ozone Health Watch has been extended into today, and could be extended into Saturday in the Valley as well.

Ozone levels are expected to approach unhealthy levels, and people with sensitive respiratory systems are urged to limit their time outside. Everyone is encouraged to carpool, drive less and refuel after dark.
