PHOENIX -- For a second morning in a row, some Valley residents woke up to light rain.  In most spots it wasn't more than a few drops, but the cloudy skies brought a nice change to the recent heat.

The heat is expected to ease up a bit over the next few days as humidity levels increase.

Look for a high this afternoon in the Valley around 103 degrees, which is about four degrees below normal for today's date. There is a 40 percent chance of storms later today, including a threat for blowing dust.

For Wednesday, Independence Day, there's about the same chance of storms, but with more cloud cover in the forecast, our afternoon high should only top out near 94 degrees. Storm chances are pretty equal throughout Wednesday, meaning we could just as easily see thunderstorms during the morning hours as we could during the afternoon or evening, with blowing dust and gusty winds a threat.

Storm chances decrease a bit after Wednesday, but there's at least a slight chance of storms all the way through the weekend.
