Wade Miley an All-Star, Aaron Hill up for fan vote

PHOENIX -- Wade Miley’s impressive rookie season with the Arizona Diamondbacks has earned him a spot on the National League All-Star Team.

Miley was selected as a reserve on Sunday morning, making him the first Diamondbacks rookie to ever get selected for the Midsummer Classic. Miley is just the 17th rookie pitcher to be named to the NL All-Star Team, and the first since Dontrelle Willis in 2003.

Miley has made 13 starts since being moved to the starting rotation on April 23. He’s compiled a record of 8-4 with an earned run average of 2.85.

Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill could also be named an All-Star. Hill is one of the five National League finalists for the 2012 All-Star Game Final Vote presented by Firestone.

Hill just recently made national headlines when he hit for the cycle twice in 11 days. Hill became the first player since Babe Herman in 1931 to hit two cycles in one season.

To vote Aaron Hill onto the National League All-Star Team visit MLB.com or Dbacks.com before 1 p.m. Arizona time on Thursday. You can also support Hill on Twitter by using the hashtag #FinHillVote.

The All Star Game will take place on July 10 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.
