SURPRISE, Ariz. -- A Surprise man suspected of robbing a Diamond Shamrock convenience store on Wednesday has been arrested.

Surprise Police and members of the Arizona Wanted Violent Offenders Task Force of the United States Marshals Service arrested Christopher Costanzo at his Surprise home on Thursday.

Costanzo, 31, is accused of walking into a Diamond Shamrock at 13908 W. Bell Road and threatening an employee with a knife. Costanzo then fled the scene after taking cash from the store’s register.

Authorities were able to identify Costanzo after speaking with the employee. He was subsequently located and arrested at his home.

Costanzo has been booked into the Maricopa County 4th Avenue Jail on charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault. He also had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
