PHOENIX -- Authorities have arrested the woman believed to have taken part in a home invasion earlier this month.
Phoenix Police announced on Thursday that they arrested Alexis Monique Hinojos, 24, on a first-degree burglary charge.
On June 22, Hinojos reportedly knocked on the door of a home at 5500 W. Minton.
A 14-year-old and his three younger siblings were home at the time, but the teen decided not to answer the door when he realized he didn’t recognize Hinojos.
A few minutes later the 14-year-old heard a loud bang at the door and rushed his siblings upstairs. The teen then grabbed a handgun and returned to the top of the stairs just in time to see Richard S. Fiore, 37, breaking through the front door.
Fiore pointed a gun at the teen, which is when the boy shot him.
Fiore was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition. He was eventually released on Wednesday and booked into jail on four counts of aggravated assault, one count of first-degree burglary, and one count of prohibited possession.
Police had been searching for Hinojos since last weekend.
