PHOENIX -- The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office discovered a meth lab and 50 pounds of drugs while investigating a West Valley home.

Sheriff's deputies say their Drug Suppression Task Force received information from the Phoenix Police Department regarding a meth lab in the 9200 W. Sheridan block in west Phoenix.

When deputies searched the home Tuesday afternoon, they found 50 pounds of meth worth about $1.5 million. They also seized $25,000 in cash, a handgun, three vehicles and an all-terrain vehicle.

Two suspects, identified as Saul Zuniga-Leon and Alejandro Mendoza-Enriquez, were arrested. They are believed to be illegal immigrants.

Both men face charges of possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of equipment or chemicals being used for manufacturing drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
