GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Glendale Police have announced that their search for the remains of missing 5-year-old Jhessye Shockley at the Butterfield Landfill is coming to an end.

As of Friday, authorities had yet to discover any significant evidence connected to Shockley’s disappearance.

Glendale Police are working to put together a press conference to provide more information about the investigation.

Shockley was last seen at her Glendale home back on October 11. Shockley’s mother, Jerice Hunter, was arrested back in November, but released a few days later after authorities decided not to file a child abuse charge.

Glendale detectives would eventually receive a tip that Shockley had been murdered and dumped in the trash.

Authorities were able to determine that the trash ended up just south of the Valley in the Butterfield Landfill, which is where they’ve been searching for the past few months.
