Scottsdale Police investigating after woman dies from laceration wounds

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Scottsdale Police said a woman died Friday morning after suffering laceration wounds to her chest.

Workers at an apartment complex at 11260 N. 92st found the woman, believed to be in her 20s, lying on the sidewalk near an apartment.

Police arrived to discover that the woman was not breathing. They also noticed a trail of blood from the victim back to the nearby apartment.

Authorities attempted to save the woman’s life, but she was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Officers entered the nearby apartment and found a 25-year-old man inside. There was also blood inside the residence, suggesting that the woman had been injured inside the apartment.

The man was taken into custody as an investigative lead. Police have yet to find a weapon, and are continuing to investigate the case.
