Camp Verde, Ariz. -- A former Animal Control Officer for the Camp Verde Marshal's Office and another person were arrested Tuesday for reportedly stealing donated pet food.
According the Camp Verde Marshal's office, retired animal control officer Terri Moore was continuing to pick up animal food donated to the Campe Verde Animal Shelter by Wal-mart. She would take the items and use them for herself.
Leroy Scott Fringer helped Moore steal the food and transport it to the Camp Verde area, the Marshal's Office said. Fringer is an acquaintance of Moore.
The Marshal's Office received a tip about the thefts, and Moore and Fringer were arrested Tuesday afternoon.
More than 300 pounds of dog and cat food as well as other miscellaneous items from the residences of Moore and Fringer were recovered.
The two are each facing felony counts of fraudulent schemes and possession of stolen property.
