PHOENIX -- Maricopa County sheriff's deputies arrested six people at a Phoenix auto parts business in an employer sanctions operation Thursday.

Deputies served a search warrant at Autofit near 18th Avenue and Buckeye Road after receiving information months ago that some employees were using forged documents to obtain employment.

Sheriff's officials said four people were found to be using fake Social Security numbers, one of which belonged to a dead person, to get hired.

They said all six people arrested are believed to be illegal immigrants.

This was MCSO's 61st employer sanction/identity theft operation.

Officials said this operation brings the total number of arrests in all employer sanction/identity theft investigations to 633.
