TUCSON, Ariz. -- A Tucson woman is facing a felony child abuse charge after a baby in her care was found floating in a bathtub.
Zada Davis, 27, was arrested and booked into the Pima County Jail on Tuesday.
Firefighters responded to an apartment near Prince Road and Campbell Avenue at about 2:45 p.m. after 10-month-old Winter Breeze Azure was found unconscious and not breathing in a bathtub full of water.
Firefighters administered CPR and rushed the child to a local hospital. She remains in critical condition.
According to Tucson police detectives, Davis put Winter in the bathtub with some toys and left the water running then began doing other things in the home. She returned to the bathroom about 10 minutes later and discovered that the tub was overflowing and the child was floating in the water.
Davis called 911 and a neighbor performed CPR until firefighters arrived.
Davis was also caring for her 7-year-old child and an 8-month-old baby at the time. Police said the other children were not injured.
