Prescott planning to hold 4th of July fireworks showPosted: Updated:
PRESCOTT, Ariz. -- Residents of Prescott will likely get to enjoy fireworks this Fourth of July.
City officials have announced that they will go forward with their annual fireworks show as long as there aren’t wildfires burning across the state.
Prescott Fire Marshal Eric Kriwer told the Prescott Daily Courier that the fire department plans to use water trucks to soak the area in Pioneer Park where they plan to stage the fireworks. Fire officials will also be clearing nearby brush.
A crew of firefighters and at least two engines will also be present during the show in case anything goes wrong.
Every year Prescott’s Fourth of July fireworks show is in question, as city officials have to determine if the conditions are safe.
