Former Tempe Improv owner found dead in BuckeyePosted: Updated:
BUCKEYE, Ariz. -- The former owner of the Tempe Improv has been found dead inside a Buckeye hotel room.
Buckeye Police were called to the Days Inn at 25205 W. Yuma Road on Wednesday morning after a housekeeper found a dead body in a room.
Police conducted an Unattended Death Investigation and determined that it was Mark Anderson who had died.
A cause of death has yet to be determined. The investigation into Anderson’s death is still ongoing.
Anderson had been reported missing by his wife on May 12.
Earlier in May, Anderson had announced that he was going to close the Tempe Improv after more than 20 years in business.
Anderson blamed Stand Up Live, which opened its doors in downtown Phoenix in 2011, for taking much of the Improv’s business.
The Tempe Improv closed on June 1.
