St. Vincent de Paul holds hair-cut-a-thon for homeless

PHOENIX -- Several stylists from all over the Valley were at St. Vincent de Paul on Sunday taking part in their hair-cut-a-thon.
The event gave homeless adults and children the opportunity to get a free haircut.
The haircuts went beyond just providing a nice, new look. They are also an important part of good hygiene, and can provide a lot of help for those trying to find employment.
“Physically, of course, it makes them feel wonderful, it builds their self esteem. They can look in the mirror and see they look decent for a change, but you know the self esteem is really the most important thing,” said Sharon Robinson.
After receiving their haircuts, the adults and children were treated to a warm meal.
