Police shoot at suspect following fight in SurprisePosted: Updated:
SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Surprise Police were forced to open fire on a suspect early Sunday morning.
Officers responded to a house in the area of 14300 West Mandalay Lane just after 6 a.m. after receiving a call about a large fight.
As officers approached the home on foot they heard shots being fired. They subsequently came across a Hispanic male holding a handgun.
Police ordered the man to put down his weapon, but he ignored their orders and pointed the gun at officers.
Police fired at the suspect, prompting him to drop his gun and eventually be taken into custody.
Officers continued to the address where they found two men with gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to a local hospital.
One victim is listed in stable condition, while the other victim is in critical condition.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
