MESA, Ariz. -- Mesa Police arrested a man this week after he allegedly got aggressive with cans of beer.

Officers responded to the Casa Carranza Apartments on Thursday night after receiving a report that Mitch Rinehart, 34, had been throwing the cans at two women sitting on a balcony.

A third victim tried to help the women by intervening, but was confronted by Rinehart.

The third victim ran into his apartment, but Rinehart forced his way inside and assaulted the man in his residence.

Rinehart and another man then retreated into an apartment and barricaded themselves inside when police arrived.

The SWAT team was called in and gave verbal commands for about an hour. Rinehart and the man eventually surrendered to police.

Rinehart was arrested after being identified as the suspect, while the other man was released on the scene.

Rinehart was booked on charges of residential burglary and aggravated assault, as well as two misdemeanor counts.
