SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Police and FBI agents are searching for the man who robbed a Wells Fargo Bank in Sun City Grand Friday morning.

According to police, the man, who was wearing thick, dark curly wig over his face, walked into the bank branch on Sunrise Boulevard northeast of Loop 303 and Bell Road at about 8:30 a.m.

Once inside, the suspect handed a bank employee a note demanding money. When that employee did not respond right away, the man lifted his shirt to display a handgun that was in the waistband of his pants, Sgt. Norm Owens of the Surprise Police Department said.

The employee handed over an undisclosed amount of money. Cash in hand, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

The man never actually drew his weapon and no injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black man wearing a gray long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, the dark wig, and a straw hat. The Surprise Police Department released surveillance photos of the man Friday afternoon.

While police and FBI investigators have talked to several victims and witnesses, they need the public's help to identify and track down the suspect.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding this robbery to call the Surprise Police Department at 623-222-4000. Tipsters wishing to remain anonymous can call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (948-6377), 1-800-343-TIPS (8477) or 480-TESTIGO (837-8446).
