PHOENIX -- Phoenix Police have released images of two suspects believed to have taken part in a recent series of scams in northwest Phoenix.

Police have released two photos of a woman in a hat who allegedly tried to scam vulnerable adults out of several thousand dollars on May 18 by telling them there were problems with their car.

The second suspect is a blond woman who was part of a group that allegedly tried to take several thousand dollars from an elderly couple on Wednesday by telling them their car had a gas leak.

Authorities say over the past several days people have been approached by scam artists and told that their vehicle needed immediate attention.

In each case, the suspects claimed to be mechanics and told the victims that either they could fix their car or they knew someone who could do the repairs.

It is not yet known if the suspects in each incident are part of the same group.

Police ask anyone with any information to call the Phoenix Police Department at 602-262-6151 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
