PHOENIX -- Thursday was a record-tying day with a high of 109 degrees at Sky Harbor Airport. That ties the day's previous record which goes back to 2001.

An excessive heat warning continues for much of western and central Arizona, including metro Phoenix through Friday. On Friday we're forecasting a high of 112 in Phoenix.

Also, an Air Pollution Advisory is out because of high ozone levels around metro Phoenix. Ozone is expected to peak in the unhealthful range Friday and Saturday. Some of that ozone is actually drifting in from the Los Angeles basin.
