State Rep.'s children arrested on drug chargesPosted: Updated:
KINGMAN, Ariz. -- An Arizona lawmaker said she is "shattered" by the arrest of her adult children for heroin drug use.
State Rep. Doris Goodale, of Kingman, told "Today's News-Herald" on Tuesday she loves her children but is making no excuses for their actions.
Kingman police arrested 27-year-old Michael Goodale and 31-year-old Stephanie Goodale, along with three others, May 24 following a three-month investigation into heroin trafficking.
Authorities said all five have been booked into the Mohave County jail on several drug-related felony charges.
Goodale, who does not plan to pay their bail, said she had no idea they were involved in drug dealing. She said both children are bi-polar.
The Republican legislator is currently seeking re-election for a district that includes all of Mohave and La Paz counties.
