Two men hit by car following bar fightPosted: Updated:
CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Two men were taken to the hospital Friday night after being struck by a vehicle in the middle of a Chandler road.
Police said a fight broke out just after 9 p.m. at the El Coyote Bar near the 400 block of north Arizona Avenue. Several people were involved in the altercation, which moved outside into the alley and parking lot area.
The fight eventually moved into the street, with two men, ages 32 and 34, running into the middle of Arizona Avenue.
While standing in the two way left turn lane, the men were struck by a 22-year-old Chandler man who was driving south.
The driver left the scene, but was followed by witnesses. He eventually returned to the scene as police were arriving.
The two men were rushed to the hospital in what appeared to be serious condition. One of the men was reported to have a serious head injury.
The driver was not found to be impaired. It’s not yet known if he will face charges.
