PHOENIX (AP) -- Environmental regulators issued a high pollution advisory for fine particulate matter for Friday in metropolitan Phoenix.

Winds as strong 40 mph are expected to combine with dry conditions to stir up dust in the county.

Regulators say people with respiratory problems should avoid outdoor activities on Friday.

Other recommended steps include avoiding the use of wood-burning fires, leaf blowers and off-highway vehicles.
