PHOENIX -- A man's body was found on the track of Desert Vista High School just feet from where students will celebrate their graduation Thursday night.

Investigators were on the scene near 32nd Street and Pecos Road. Aerial video from the scene showed rows of white chairs set up on the field for Thursday's commencement ceremony.

The 50-year-old man reportedly worked for the school as a security guard. His body was found on the track at about 6 a.m. Wednesday.

There was blood on the back of his head, but no weapon was found near his body.

Firefighters later determined that the man probably died of natural causes. He reportedly collapsed while running.

Classes at Desert Vista were going on as scheduled, which means students are taking their final exams.

Tempe Union High School District spokeswoman Linda Littell identified the employee as Patrick Quinn. Littell says the school is providing counselors.
