PHOENIX -- The triple-digit temperatures will be returning to Phoenix next week.

Valley residents got a brief break on Saturday with temperatures in the high 90s, but by Sunday the temperature is expected to reach 103.

The heat will only increase as the work week begins, as the high for both Monday and Tuesday is expected to reach 106.

Fortunately, temperatures will decrease slightly as the week progresses, and we’re expected to have highs in the high 90s by Friday and Saturday.

Valley residents will also want to keep their eye out for a solar eclipse on Sunday.

An eclipse occurs when the moon comes between Earth and the sun.

Sunday’s eclipse is expected to take place at around 5:30 p.m.
