Would-be car thieves arrested in Prescott Valley

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. -- Police in Prescott Valley have arrested two men who attempted to break into more than 20 vehicles in the area.

Early Tuesday morning, authorities were flagged down by a victim who said two men had just broken into his car.

The victim and another man were able to restrain one of the suspects for a brief moment before he eventually fled with the other suspect.

Officers responded to the area and were able to locate and arrest Anthony Christerson, 22, and Mark Jensen, 23.

While investigating the incident, police discovered that Christerson and Jensen were involved in previous crimes.

Christerson and Jensen eventually admitted to trying to break into more than 20 vehicles in and around Prescott Valley.

Christerson and Jensen were booked into the Yavapai County Jail on numerous charges, including robbery and theft.

They will likely face more charges when the investigation into the other suspected crimes is concluded and forwarded to the Yavapai County Attorney’s Office.
