Arrest made in Buckeye homicide

BUCKEYE, Ariz. -- Maricopa County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide investigation in Buckeye.

Sau Martinez-Zuniga, 43, was taken into custody on Monday.

Detectives were called out to the area of Pecos and Tuthill roads Sunday night where the body of a Hispanic male was found with a gunshot wound, according to MCSO spokesman Sgt. Brandon Jones

The victim was identified as Fortino Galaviz-Borquez, 45.

Sheriff's detectives said Martinez-Zuniga admitted that he shot Galaviz-Borquez while they were out shooting guns and that he had left the scene. Martinez-Zuniga also admitted to being in the country illegally.

Martinez-Zuniga was booked at the Fourth Avenue Jail and will be charged with manslaughter.
