PHOENIX -- A man admitted to sexually assaulting a female clerk at a Phoenix adult store was sentenced on Monday to 35 years in prison and lifetime probation with sex offender terms.

In April, Michael Lamont King Jr., 23, pleaded guilty to five counts in the case.

The incident happened on Oct. 17, 2011 at the Pleasure Palace at 16th and Van Buren streets.

Police said King, who was armed with a handgun, pulled the victim across the counter and threatened to kill her. He also stole some money from the store.

Police were able to arrest King after he allegedly robbed a Chase Bank a few days later near 16th Street and Camelback Road.

King was already wanted for several violent felony offenses at the time of the attack and the bank robbery.  He had a parole violation and a warrant out for his arrest.
