Mother's Day Gift Guide IdeasPosted: Updated:
Mother's Day is just around the corner, so here are some gift ideas based on Mom's personality!
For the Mom on the Run:
*The Duelette ($15 at chillyjilly.com) -- Entrepreneur Jill Boehler watched herself back on a TV segment and realized that the rubber bands that she had transferred from her hair to her wrist, as we all do, looked ugly and she certainly hadn't meant to leave them on her arm. So she created the stylish Duelette bracelet, that can double as a hair band and a bracelet for fashionable women on the run. Plus they look nice intertwined with your favorite wrist bangles, too.
*Lay-n-Go® COSMO ($29.95) is an 18” diameter cosmetic bag that converts into an easily transportable handled clutch allowing for quick and effortless clean-up of your cosmetics. Mom can take all of her favorite beauty items with her by simply arranging her items on the Lay-n-Go Cosmo surface (that come s with an added inside pocket for discrete storage) and then she simply pulls the drawstring and the cosmetic bag converts quickly into a completely sealed soft clutch. Lay-n-Go COSMO is a smart and easy 4-in-1 solution….clean surface, quick cleanup, carryall and storage. I love this invention! For more information visit http://layngo.com/products.php.
For the Mother of Jewels:
*Fancy Jewelry Designs -- Local Mom Stephanie Smith makes pretty pieces of jewelry that include nice necklaces, beautiful beaded bracelets and eye-catching earrings. And supporting a local mom with a purchase of her bling is always great to do. Order at fancyjewelrydesigns.com.
For the Mom Who Wants a Makeover:
*Let's Go Shopping Makeup Makeover -- For the Mom who would like a makeover, here is a unique idea. Local mom and former New York City Ford model Erin Hennessy is now a professional cosmetics consultant and personal shopper who gives women a makeover and then accompanies them on a shopping trip to purchase her recommended items. Her consultation includes assessing what makeup a client already owns to find out what works and what doesn't,. She then determines just how long her client wants to spend doing makeup, how often she needs cosmetics for special events, and together they put together a new beauty item budget. Then they take a shopping trip to stores like Sephora, Ulta and Walgreens. They then return to the client's home to do a makeup lesson with the new items. This is definitely a unique gift idea. Her complete service costs $200. For more information, visit her website at www.erinhennessy.com. She recently did this with my friend, Julie and it was great fun. Julie tells me that Erin was ri
ght on and that she gave her some great ideas for her evening special occasion makeup plan. Julie also loved the shopping part of this because she learned about new products and discovered some helpful cosmetic tips to get the most out of her beauty dollar.
For the Home Spa Mom

For the Bling & Wine-Loving Mom
*Teresa's Creative Gifts (www.facebook.com/teresascreativegifts) -- This is one of my favorite finds! Based in Maricopa, this local mom designs and creates everything bling and I especially love her wine tees. Watch the segment to see the fun shirts that are blinged out with phrases like "Wine A Little, You'll Feel Better" as well as several other fun variations. Her tees range in price from $20 to $22 and she also makes over 300 styles of all types of logos and designs in shirts, jackets, sweatshirts and shorts. And new to her collection this year are beautiful bling flip flops for only $25 a pair. Similar blinged-out flip flops retail for $50 and up, so her shoes are a good value.
Plus a customer favorite this year is the wine cork cage for fun home decor. She sells several variations of the cork cage, including one with a chalkboard front, so you can write "Happy Mother's Day" on the it for a great gift idea. The wine cork cages sell for $24.99. And she sells big beautiful beaded cuff bracelets that range in price and size from $9 to $12. *Lolita Wine Glasses with cocktail recipes on bottom of the stem (www.thelolitastore.com or at local Hallmark gift stores) -- Most women love a nice bottle of wine, so add a little spirit by pairing it with a Lolita custom wine glass. I always show the Lolita line because I love how these glasses come with a recipe on the bottom of the stem. The cocktail ideas are always unique, tasty and fun! Plus, Lolita has several pretty Mother's Day designs, one called "Mommy's Time Out" and one labeled "Mom's Bouquet." The line also includes champagne flutes, martini glasses, and party shots with prices ranging from $12-25
